Paw Pause has been providing animal assisted therapy teams, made up of allied health professionals (including counsellors) with their trained therapy dogs, since 2020. 

Working alongside students in primary, middle and high schools, we support individual students, classes or work with the school community so children and teens feel calm, safe and ready to learn at school.

Every child deserves to feel like they belong at their school. Some students need extra support to understand they belong at school and Paw Pause teams are there to assist with becoming more comfortable at school and confident in their learning journey. 

Opportunity

Paw Pause is expanding and offering opportunities to establish your own Paw Pause business in other states and territories. 

 As a Paw Pause license holder, you'll be supported and guided to establish your own Paw Pause animal assisted therapy business. 

 You may choose to work as a licensee and operator, bringing your own therapy dog into schools to complement your expertise as a counsellor. You may wish to grow your business, recruiting and employing other allied health professionals and their own trained therapy dogs to expand the reach of your business and support more students to thrive at school and beyond. 

You'll receive expert coaching and support so you can establish and grow your Paw Pause business under license.

Requirements

Allied health qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Psychologist, OT, Speech Therapist, DE.

-Have an interest in Animal Assisted Therapy

-have your own therapy dog or be willing to undergo training.

-Previous experience in schools or with children & teens.
